qotw: flower bloom

“Makin’ sure my punctuation curve, every letter here’s true
Livin’ my life in the margin and that metaphor was proof
I’m talkin’ poetic justice, poetic justice
If I told you that a flower bloomed in a dark room
Would you trust it? I mean, you need to [read] this…”
Kendrick Lamar, “Poetic Justice”

In what could be considered one of the saddest points of my life, I met a goal that I set to accomplish this year. The timing couldn’t be any crazier. I have been trying to keep up and catch up for a minute—y’all know how time works. My focus isn’t the best. Even writing this is a challenge. Nevertheless, I realized the work that I put in is finally paying off.

Although my faith wavers at times, I believe in signs. This is one of those signs to keep going. I’m still not pumped up and ready to conquer the world, but eventually I will get to my destination—no matter how long it takes. The sunshine will make its’ way back into the room—it always does, but for now my flower will keep me company and remind me why I even started. I’m going to be alright because my loyalty to my goals is coming from my heart. 🙂
