My scholarship carries the pulse of a field note written on a train ride in New York City. It’s grounded, mobile, and tuned to the frequencies of lived experience, especially Black lived experience.

For me, Hip Hop is not just a subject to be analyzed, but an epistemology, a way of knowing that holds memory, migration, joy, refusal, and futurity in the same breath. You braid Black histories with contemporary digital cultures, letting scholarship travel from the archive to the classroom to the algorithmic commons.

As a public scholar, I offer programs that help participants critically think, challenge their assumptions, and reflect on their own experiences in languages of liberation.
