Someone somewhere once wrote, “she never looked nice. She looked like art, and art wasn’t supposed to look nice; it was supposed to make you feel something.”* UK photographer Dazhane Leah definitely accomplished that with her project: Afro Bloomin’.
“I see beauty in natural hair and I see beauty in flowers – together I think they go hand in hand,” photographer Dazhane Leah said.
Michael Angela Davis once described the magic of black hair as defying gravity and limitations by growing up and out–just like flowers. They both need to be taken care of and come in different shapes, sizes and colors. Moreover, when they are both in full bloom they can take your breath away.
